Commercial work

As a commercial business, d::gen has carried out a wide variety of projects,

AMEE
AMEE

AMEE was designed to measure the environmental impact of everything on Earth, to help everyone quantify and reduce their impact.

d::gen began developing the AMEE platform in 2005 and launched it in 2008 as a venture-backed company: http://www.amee.com.

Since then it has raised over $10m, helped to define the emerging landscape of environmental intelligence — everywhere, and worked with clients including governments, world-leading companies (e.g. BP, Siemens, SAS), charities (e.g. Unicef) and special projects (e.g. Radiohead). AMEE was sold in 2015.

Global Cool
Global Cool

Global Cool approached d::gen in 2005 with the question “how could we get 1 billion people to reduce their CO2 emissions by one tonne per year”.

Amongst many services, d::gen became part of the due diligence process in 2006, helping Global Cool satisfy its investors and raise substantial funds.
We launched the site from a “standing start” in 3 weeks, including registration systems, full editorial, video, photos – in English and Japanese. We then built 2 further launch-releases of the site
in very quick succession to aid its marketing needs, then aided the training of an internal team to manage the ongoing processes.

Gavin was also appointed by the Global Cool Charity board (Climate Change Capital, The Climate Group, Man Group) to lead the steering committee defining the “Global Cool tonne”, which was accredited as one of only 5 UK Government “Gold Standard” schemes in Jan 2007.
