It's a great way to see new places, you have a great time meeting people from all over the world and you give something back to the place that you visit.

I usually use my holiday time to get 'involved' in something somewhere else. In the past, these have been music conferences or the like, but this time I really wanted to contribute more.

There are no real restrictions on who can go. UNAIYS run projects all over the world (from Latin America to Africa, Wales to India), and since typical projects last 2-3 weeks, you don't have to make the kind of huge commitment VSO demands (which is usually 2 years).
