We arrive at 3:30am in Shanghai and say sad farewells to our Chinese friends. The work camp has been an incredible experience and we all feel it has been too short. After a long wait for the hotel to open, we take a trip to Suzhuo for another excellent lunch in a tiny restaurant, then visit the "Garden of the Master of the Net" - a traditionally picturesque Chinese garden. The afternoon is spent discussing life with the locals in the garden's Tea Room. After a long wander in the rain we only just catch the last train back to Shanghai to experience dinner on the soaking streets, Bladerunner-style. Eating here is pretty cheap, about 3 Yaun (50 UK pence) per meal and the food and people are fantastic. |
