Arrived safely in Shanghai, managing to avoid dodgy cab drivers and people wanting all my money. It's not warm, about 10 degrees. Walking most of the way from the airport to my accommodation gives me a good view (and more noticably smell) of an intensely busy and polluted city - they seem to be rebuilding the main road, all of it. People in general are friendly, and no one understands a word I say. They're happy to stop and stare though, as I'm the only Westerner in sight… |
