An early start with fantastic noodle soup for breakfast. Managed to find a local place and order "Vegetarian Chicken", which is some kind of Tofu thing, and went for a wander down some of the back streets. Met the volunteers, and the leader, Wen Bo, and took our journey to Xian Du: which is 7 hours South, not 3 hours West as we had previously thought. The train journey is a laugh as we all try and learn each others languages (Chinese, Japanese, Czech and Danish). Arrived to a very warm welcome by the locals: flags, banners and an excellent meal. Looking forward to see what the place looks like in daylight tomorrow morning… |
